Teach Me to Play Bamboo Flute

My daughter just bought me a very inexpensive bamboo flute. I've long wanted to learn to play this instrument as part of my spiritual practice and meditation. I have no musical background or experience and I don't read music particularly well but I'm eager to learn the basics of this instrument. I'm not looking to become a professional or to record myself, just to learn to play for my own enjoyment and peace.
